Concept of the Year

I contributed to the development of the first and second annual concept of the year, a project dedicated to subverting trends and tradition by challenging color trend forecasting announcements with an inspirational concept and noncommercial prompt. Process included ruminating on the coming year and choosing a concept that encompassed overlapping feelings. We then selected contributors, including people in fields that are not typically sought out for creative projects like these (lawyers, chefs, non-professional musicians) along with a range of professional creatives in a range of fields. The end product for the first year’s concept of Fuel on Water was a publication and a website, both of which I contributed to.

I also created a piece for the first compilation called contagion, which involved photographs of a mixture of different household liquids on a mini kaleidoscopic set.

For the second year’s concept, Sleepwa(l)king, I contributed to concept development and to the end product, a pack of cards displaying the projects inspired by divination decks.
